All Mothers Are Working Mothers

A woman's life is filled with many tasks.  We are the prime organizers of our home.  When we have children, we begin to think for them as well as ourselves, which can feel overwhelming.  From the time they are born, it is usually up to us to plan what they'll eat, where they'll go, what they'll wear, and so on.  In the school days, it becomes, did they do the assignment is the homework done, do they have a lunch, are they happy and adjusted?...on and on.  Sometimes we'd like to just live for ourselves again, wouldn't we?

This is why it is so easy for a mom to feel she has lost her identity.  Her time is split between having to guide others, and so her focus might become lost in the clutter.  (Yes, clutter, there's another big issue a mom contends with--all the family clutter, daily.)

I have a fridge magnet that says "All Moms are Working Moms".  We might not feel like we have a great job, but we are still working!  The bank account shows that we certainly don't make a good income doing what we do.  But, nevertheless, we are working...constantly.  This is why we often feel stressed.

The work of a mother is similar to that of the Kingdom work of the Christian.  Christians work with their hands, but in so doing are also doing the spiritual work God has called them to. i.e.  There is more than meets the eye.  There is much about their work never seen or acknowledged in this earth.

The same goes for the mother.  So much of the good she does will never be seen or known on this earth.  But she is carrying out a calling and spiritual work.

From the outside, those that have never been a mom, HAVE NO CLUE! Really, as judgmental as that sounds, I believe it.  Those that haven't had children are good at espousing theories.  Of course, many things sound logical.  But in reality, life with children defies logic.  Those without children have no clue of the extent of physical and mental work us moms do.

If you're a mom who does her best to look after her family, I want to assure you that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing for this season.  You are appointed by God to do what you do and you will be rewarded.
